Follow director Roberto Minervini to the underbelly of America with a trailer for The Other Side, a intimate documentary that miraculously finds beauty and poetry in the harsh lives of its impoverished subjects. The film is set in the backwoods of Louisiana and primarily observes two junkies, Mark Kelley and Lisa Allen, in their daily routine — shooting up, shooting their mouths off, and just plain shooting — the result is an unnerving portrait so raw it renders empathy.
Roberto Minervini is no stranger to the Film Society as earlier this year The Other Side opened the third edition of Art of the Real Festival, which is our annual showcase of boundary pushing non-fiction film. The Other Side is now playing!
